“A loving heart is the truest wisdom”
– Charles Dickens
Michael and Leslie’s wedding in Marion, Illinois was a gorgeous and relaxing day. If you can remember, Leslie wore her mother’s wedding dress and had it redesigned and altered. Leslie’s mother, Jeannie, actually wore the dress her own mother (Leslie’s grandmother) had worn to Jeannie’s own wedding. What a beautiful tradition (and beautiful dresses)! The getting ready location and reception site was a lovely private farm poignantly referenced as “Thornfield Manor” by Leslie (that’s a nod to Jane Eyre, if you haven’t had a chance to read it yet). Michael and Leslie got married at the same little Baptist church that Leslie’s parents got married in. They followed the ceremony with a quick cake and punch reception and then headed to Leslie’s grandparent’s farm for photos before their reception back at Thornfield Manor, where guests were served a delicious home-cooked southern meal. It was a day full of love and laughter with the rustic elegance of every little detail. I so enjoyed every moment I had with Michael and Leslie on their wedding day! Congrats!
